Giving thanks in all circumstances is especially difficult when undergoing or enduring suffering. How can you be thankful when there’s something that hurts so much?
I know it is hard to see it this way, but suffering is meant to grow our faith not make it smaller.
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight in glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Focus on these word from 1 Thessalonians. Rejoice not sometimes or when you want, but always. Pray without ceasing. Never stop letting your prayers leave your lips. Give thanks in all circumstances. No matter what is going on in your life God will see you through. But you have to let Him. Give your self and give yourself to God. Stop letting the flesh keep you from living in Christ.
Rejoice, prayer and thanks exist for each other. Why? Because the source of from whom they come, Jesus.
